DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

After a safe landing at Kigali Airport, you will be greeted by our field guide. Before heading to the forest, you will enjoy a Kigali city tour, including a visit to the Genocide Memorial Centre. Afterward, we transfer to Volcanoes National Park for your overnight stay.

Day 2: Golden Monkey Trekking & Crossing to Uganda

Following a hearty breakfast, you will head to the park offices for registration. First, you will participate in the famous golden monkey trekking experience. These playful primates are a joy to observe in the bamboo forests. After a successful trek, we start our journey to Uganda, crossing the Cyanika border to arrive at your lodge before dusk.

Day 3: Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Mgahinga

Today, you will assemble at the park offices to kick-start your gorilla trekking experience. While the trek can take 2 to 6 hours, the reward is an unforgettable hour spent observing a gorilla family. Later, you will descend back to your lodge for relaxation and reflection.

Day 4: Wildlife of Ishasha and Queen Elizabeth National Park

Next, we drive toward the famous Queen Elizabeth National Park. We enter through the southern Ishasha sector, which is world-renowned for its tree-climbing lions. Keep an eye out for elephants, buffaloes, and leopards before continuing north for your overnight stay.

Day 5: Savannah Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

Early this morning, you will participate in a game drive through the Kasenyi plains. Additionally, you will enjoy a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel in the afternoon. This area is known for its high concentration of hippos, crocodiles, and diverse shorebirds.

Day 6: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest

Day 7: Fly to Tanzania via Entebbe

Today, we transfer to Entebbe Airport for your connecting flight to Tanzania. Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO), our Tanzania field guide will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel for relaxation before the second leg of your adventure begins.

Day 8: Tarangire National Park: The Land of Giants

Following your arrival in the safari circuit, you will head to Tarangire National Park. This park is famous for its massive elephant herds and iconic baobab trees. After a full day of game viewing, you will stay in Karatu for the night.

Day 9: Journey to North Serengeti for the Migration

Earlier today, you will set off for Northern Serengeti. Since this region is the heart of the great animal migration, you can expect to see massive herds of zebras and wildebeests. This is widely considered a “game-changer” for any wildlife enthusiast.

Day 10 – 11: Full Immersion in the Serengeti Ecosystem

DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: Transfer to volcanoes national park

You will be picked from your place of residence in Kigali , Visit Genocide memorial centre, later kick start a scenic drive to Volcanoes national park reaching destination in the afternoon. This is a journey that about 4hours drive with a lunch stop

Day 2: Golden monkey trekking and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park.

Today morning after a hearty breakfast, you will start with Golden monkey treks at volcanoes national park. Golden monkey trekking takes about 1-3hours. After a successful trek, proceed your journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park through Katuna border. Reaching in the evening for relaxation. Overnight at Ichumbi Gorilla lodge

Day 3: Gorilla trekking at Bwindi

Earlier today after your breakfast, You will assemble at park offices with the rest of trekking participants where registration and other formalities are done from. Later onwards ascend to the forest to look for gentle giants. The experience can last for about 2-5hours. Later head back to your lodge for relaxation.

Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park

Today morning, You will embark on another very exciting countryside journey through local homestays, tea plantations and coffee gardens among others. You will reach ishasha southern part of the park known for tree climbing lions, elephants, buffaloes, topis, Uganda kobs and hippos among others as you head north of the park through kasenyi open plains. Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking

Today after chimpanzee trekking, You will assemble at park offices where you will have a briefing, registration and then kick start your forest walk through the gorge. The kyambura gorge is popular known as a valley of apes, doing chimp trek experience is one of the lasting moment with human closet relative. The valley has other creatures like hippos, elephants and other monkeys tat reside here. After a great trek, head back your lodge for relaxation. Detailed tour.

Day 1: Kigali to Akagera National Park

A happy greeting is provided by the driver guide at the designated pickup location. A briefing on Rwanda is given while a glass of juice is enjoyed. In addition, the road to the only savannah park in the country is taken. Undulating hills and scattered homesteads are admired during the 5-hour drive.

As a result, the lodge is reached late in the afternoon for lunch. Relaxation in the gardens is encouraged before a sound sleep. Accordingly, the comfort of the seat is maintained with a securely positioned seatbelt. The park is known to host a plethora of wildlife and the Big 5.

Day 2: Sunrise Game Drive and Lake Ihema Canoe Ride

An enjoyable 4-hour game drive is conducted in the early morning hours. To clarify, buffaloes, elephants, and giraffes are often brought by luck. The checklist is completed by various birds, primates, and reptiles. Undoubtedly, a bush breakfast is eaten after the wildlife viewing session.

Day 3: Akagera National Park to Nyungwe National Park

Day 4: Morning Chimpanzee Trek and Canopy Walk Experience

Day 5: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Day 01: Arrival and transfer

After breakfast you will report to the park headquarters where your guide will accomplish the necessary formalities for you of allocating you Angola monkey family to track. You will meet your ranger guide(s) for a briefing about Angola monkey tracking formality and how everything will be conducted from the start to the finish point; also you will be briefed on how you are to conduct yourself in the forest before and after encountering the Angola monkeys. Day 04: Forest walk at Nyungwe forest

After breakfast, go for canopy walk. Forest walks give you an opportunity to explore the interior and fascinating habitats of the Nyungwe forest. Walking in Nyungwe is a fantastic experience with trails lasting from one to eight hours. This is a beautiful trail and one of the shortest hikes yet includes East Africa’s highest canopy walk with spectacular views across Nyungwe Forest, while the 6 hour Bigugu Trail leads you to the highest mountain in the Park at 2950m. Day 05: Nyungwe Forest to Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast, proceed to Volcanoes National Park for Gorilla tracking. This park lies in North western Rwanda bordering Virunga National Park and is a home to the rare mountain Gorillas. This park will give you the ultimate Gorilla tracking experience as you get closer these giant apes after the thrilling trek in the jungle in search of the Gorilla family allocated to the group. Day 07: Transfer to Akagera National Park

After breakfast, you will be transfered to Akagera National Park for full day gave viewing. You will stopover for lunch at Chez Robert in Kigali, then head to Ruzizi for a boat ride after along Lake Ihema after lunch. During the boat cruise, you may encounter different animal species as well as a variety of bird species. Overnight at Akagera Game Lodge(Full board basis).

Day 08: Game Viewing at Akagera National Park

After breakfast, you will set out for a full day game viewing safari within the Park with your packed lunch. Explore the park in search for the big game found only in this park in Rwanda for instance; Giraffes, Elephants, Lions, and Buffaloes and so on. Day 09: Akagera National Park to Kigali

Day 10: Kigali City tour and transfer

Day 1: Welcome to Rwanda and transfer to your hotel in Kigali city for relaxation.

You will pass via tea plantations with a spectacular views of the neighboring communities and and beautiful scenaries reaching in the evening. The distance from kibuye to Volcanoes is roughly 3-4 hours drive. Dinner and overnight at Mountain gorilla view lodge/Gorilla solution lodge/ Da Vinci gorilla lodge/Kinigi guest house. .

Day 5: Gorilla tracking

Wake up early and transfer to volcanoes national park headquarters in Kinigi for briefing about gorilla trekking. At 8:30am, transfer to trekking starting point and then hike into teh forest with the lead of the armed of armed of guide. You will spend an hour with the mountain gorillas and then descend back to the lodge. In the evening, you may go for cultural encounters and interact with the local people. Day 6: Departure

Wake up early, have morning breakfast and then return to Kigali for a return flight. After breakfast, trek up to the mountain for another memorable experience with the gorillas. Day 4: Beach experience on lake Kivu – Gisenyi

You will transfer to Gisenyi after your cup of coffee from Ruhengeri, a beautiful town situated on the shores of the pretty lake Kivu. You will relax at the beach as you sun bath, you will take canoes and visit some Islands. In the afternoon you will visit Ndaba Falls and later evening return to the lodge for your accommodation.

Day 5: Transfer to Nyungwe national park

After an early breakfast, you will set off to Nyungwe national park. Nyungwe forest is the largest montane forest harboring 13 primate species including our cousins, the chimpanzees, 38 reptiles and over 275 bird species.

After lunch, you will head for the only East African canopy walk where you will walk above the forest as you spot different beautiful bird species, monkeys jumping from one tree to another, among others. Check in in the lodge upon reaching for your dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Primate trekking

set off to the park after your breakfast to Nyungwe NP to discover the beauty of this park in Rwanda. You will trek the forest to look for these primates after a briefing about dos and don’ts. The park ranger guides will provide you with the required information about these beautiful creatures such as how the produce, feed, play among others. Among other primates you may encounter include; chimpanzees, L’Hoest’s monkeys, golden monkeys, silver monkeys, red tailed monkeys, vervet monkeys and olive baboons.

Day 7: Transfer to Kigali and culture encounter

The national cultural museum is located in Butare making it worth to visit.

You will make a stopover in Nyanza to visit the royal palace of the traditional king of Rwanda “The Mwami”. Upon the arrival in Kigali, you will check in the hotel for your accommodation.

Day 8: Transfer to Akagera national park

Day 5: Visit Ross Carr orphanage on the shores of Lake Kivu.

After breakfast, leave Lake Kivu to Musanze in North-East with enroute visit to an orphanage. Rosamond Halsey was a young American fashion illustrator when she married an adventurous hunter-explorer, Kenneth Carr. Together, they traveled to the former republic of the Belgian Congo in 1949 but they later divorced. Kenneth left, but Rosamond stayed in the Democratic Republic of Congo up to 1955. From D.R. Congo, she transferred to northwest Rwanda where she lived for up to 50 years. Rosamond witnessed a larger part of Rwanda’s historical events including the 1994 civil war that led to genocide.

She went to become the author of “Land of a Thousand Hills: My Life in Rwanda.” At this place, the site guide narrates authentic history about the life and times of this lady, her relationship with the natives and Dian Fossey the famous gorilla conservationist. Safari overview: This safari explores Rwanda Gorillas and Dian Fossey’s legacy in conservation.

This tour will take you to the home of the remaining endangered mountain gorillas in volcanoes National Park in the Northern province of Rwanda. You will also hike to Dian Fossey’s graveyard – former karisoke research center where she stayed for over 20 years researching about the mountain gorillas, she was the first to introduce gorilla habituation in Rwanda and the Virunga region at large. This journey highlights the connection between Rwanda, Gorillas and Dian Fossey, offering a unique wildlife and conservation experience.

Day 1: Kigali international airport to Volcanoes National Park.

Our driver guide will welcome you to the land of a thousand hills and transfer you to volcanoes national Park. But if you reach at the airport early you will visit the sculpture in the city of Rwanda. Upon reaching the hotel/Lodge you will have your dinner and check in for an overnight. This first day gives you a chance to start your Rwanda Gorillas and Dian Fossey safari with excitement and anticipation.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking in volcanoes National Park

Enjoy your hot coffee in the natural forest at the lodge, the game park ranger will brief you about the dos and don’ts while trekking the apes. You will trek to the forest in search these great animals. Trekking takes 2-3 hours depending on the movement of the apes. It includes 1 – hour interaction with the gorillas and later return to the lodge for a hot lunch and relax. This day focuses on gorilla encounters, closely following the legacy of Dian Fossey within Rwanda’s volcanoes.

Day 3: Hiking to Dian Fossey graveyard

Have a leisurely breakfast and head for Bisoke hiking, where you will be passing through bamboo forests that gives a nice view. You will reach at the former karisoke research center where Dian Fossey was buried. You will also encounter other attractions like elephants, buffalos, and different bird species. You will trek back to your lodge for lunch and relax. Furthermore, this hike is an essential part of exploring Rwanda Gorillas and the impact of Dian Fossey’s conservation work.

Day 4: Transfer back to Kigali and city tour

Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park and cultural encounters.

After your early morning breakfast, your driver guide will drive you to the park headquarters where briefing and activity registration is carried out, you will carry your packed lunch and enough drinking water and dressed in gorilla tracking attire, after the briefing with the park ranger guide, you will start your tracking of these rare gentle giants in their natural habitat which will take you between 4 and 7 hours. This is a feature day for the Rwanda Gorillas Safari 4 Days itinerary—prepare for an immersive experience.

Once you find them you will be allowed maximum of one hour with them as you take pictures thereafter you will return back to your lodge rest a bit and later you will take visit to the community to iby iwacu for cultural entertainments through music dance and drama of Kinyarwanda, that will mark the day return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay

Day 3: Mt. Bisoke hiking

After your breakfast, you will hike Mt Bisoke with a well packed lunch and hiking gears after a briefing at the park office. This hiking activity takes 6-7 hours, and it requires someone who is physically fit to hike up to the beautiful hill because it requires walking through muddy when it rains. On reaching on the top of you will view a crater lake. You will descend back to lodge for dinner and overnight. Day 1: Pick up from Kigali international airport and transfer to Nyungwe forest national park.
