DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
After a safe landing at Kigali Airport, you will be greeted by our field guide. Before heading to the forest, you will enjoy a Kigali city tour, including a visit to the Genocide Memorial Centre. Afterward, we transfer to Volcanoes National Park for your overnight stay.
Day 2: Golden Monkey Trekking & Crossing to Uganda
Following a hearty breakfast, you will head to the park offices for registration. First, you will participate in the famous golden monkey trekking experience. These playful primates are a joy to observe in the bamboo forests. After a successful trek, we start our journey to Uganda, crossing the Cyanika border to arrive at your lodge before dusk.
Day 3: Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Mgahinga
Today, you will assemble at the park offices to kick-start your gorilla trekking experience. While the trek can take 2 to 6 hours, the reward is an unforgettable hour spent observing a gorilla family. Later, you will descend back to your lodge for relaxation and reflection.
Day 4: Wildlife of Ishasha and Queen Elizabeth National Park
Next, we drive toward the famous Queen Elizabeth National Park. We enter through the southern Ishasha sector, which is world-renowned for its tree-climbing lions. Keep an eye out for elephants, buffaloes, and leopards before continuing north for your overnight stay.
Day 5: Savannah Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise
Early this morning, you will participate in a game drive through the Kasenyi plains. Additionally, you will enjoy a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel in the afternoon. This area is known for its high concentration of hippos, crocodiles, and diverse shorebirds.
Day 6: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest
After an early breakfast, you will leave for Kibale National Park. In the afternoon, you will head into the tropical rainforest for chimpanzee trekking. Because Kibale is the primate capital of the world, sightings are incredibly frequent and rewarding.
Day 7: Fly to Tanzania via Entebbe
Today, we transfer to Entebbe Airport for your connecting flight to Tanzania. Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO), our Tanzania field guide will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel for relaxation before the second leg of your adventure begins.
Day 8: Tarangire National Park: The Land of Giants
Following your arrival in the safari circuit, you will head to Tarangire National Park. This park is famous for its massive elephant herds and iconic baobab trees. After a full day of game viewing, you will stay in Karatu for the night.
Day 9: Journey to North Serengeti for the Migration
Earlier today, you will set off for Northern Serengeti. Since this region is the heart of the great animal migration, you can expect to see massive herds of zebras and wildebeests. This is widely considered a “game-changer” for any wildlife enthusiast.
Day 10 – 11: Full Immersion in the Serengeti Ecosystem
You will spend these two days exploring the Serengeti. While Day 10 focuses on the North, Day 11 takes you through the Seronera (Central) and Ndutu areas. Furthermore, these regions are where predators like lions and cheetahs congregate to follow the migrating herds.
Day 12: Ngorongoro Crater Exploration
Today, you will visit a UNESCO World Heritage site: the Ngorongoro Crater. This massive caldera is home to the “Big Five,” including the rare black rhino. After a day on the crater floor, you will return to Karatu for your final safari night.
Day 13: Arusha Cultural Visit & Departure
Finally, on your departure day, you may choose to visit the Heritage Centre in Arusha for souvenirs before your flight from Kilimanjaro Airport.
