Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Serengeti National Park

Head straight for Serengeti National Park immediately upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport. Our professional guide takes you through a short briefing on what to expect during your time in Tanzania before the drive. The airport is about 280 kilometers from the park, meaning the journey will take about 8 hours. Arrive at your booked lodge in the park and immediately enjoy your lunch. Relax for the rest of the evening before having dinner in the evening. Dinner and rest for the night ahead.

Day 2: Full-day game drive in Serengeti

Wake up to an early breakfast, and after breakfast head into the park for a full-day game drive. Serengeti National Park, as a top safari destination, offers an unlimited safari experience and wildlife encounters. Due to its massive size, a full-day game drive is ideal for visitors to have a fantastic time in the park. There is a lot to uncover and spot, from the highly sought-after predators like lions, leopards, and cheetahs to other wildlife species like elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, gazelles, and wildebeest, among others.

Enjoy a hot lunch served in the park at noon. Continue with your game drive for the rest of the evening. Serengeti is quite big, and even a single day may not be enough to explore the whole park. Spot more wildlife species as you continue on your full-day game drive. Return to your lodge by dusk for dinner and rest.

Day 3: Morning game drive and travel to Ngorongoro

Explore more Serengeti National Park on a morning game drive after breakfast as you wind up your time in the park. This will be a slightly shorter game drive and very focused, targeting the specific wildlife species that could have been missed the previous day. Enjoy the undiscovered tracks as you extend deeper into the park, spotting more wildlife. Have lunch later and check out of the lodge to prepare for the next destination. Transit to Ngorongoro Crater in the afternoon, arriving later in the evening at the lodge in time for dinner and rest.

Day 4: Game drive and visit Olduvai Gorge

Journey to Ngorongoro Crater from the lodge after your breakfast. Embark on a wildlife expedition in this crater on a morning game drive. The nature of the crater, with its evergreen pastures and constant water source, makes it a hotspot for wildlife. Ngorongoro registers one of the largest concentrations of wildlife anywhere in the world. During this morning game drive, visitors relive a tale from the documentaries as they witness some extraordinary savannah adventures of prey vs predator on the larger stage of the crater. Your list for notable species runs deep, from lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, and wild dogs to elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, gazelles, wildebeest, antelopes, and various birds. Head later to the booked lodge in Ngorongoro for lunch.

From the savannah wilderness, visit the all-rewarding Olduvai Gorge museum that hosts important artefacts. The Ngorongoro Crater is blessed to have the oldest human skull discovered in the 1950s by Doctor Leakey. It rests at this museum along with other ancient fossils that defined life then. Enjoy this important history for the rest of the evening before heading back to the lodge. Later, have dinner and rest for the night ahead.
