Day 1: You will arrive at Arusha & travel toward the Serengeti
You will arrive in Tanzania (most itineraries will connect through Arusha) and settle into safari mode with a briefing and rest. In the morning or early afternoon, you will head toward the Serengeti and begin transitioning from the foothills into the wide plains ecosystem. By late afternoon, you will do your first Serengeti game drive, focusing on the general distribution of wildlife, predator–prey interactions, and habitat types you will see over the next days. You will overnight in or near the Serengeti to maximize early viewing time.
Day 2: You will enjoy deep Serengeti game drives (plains & movement)
You will start early to make the most of active wildlife hours and optimal viewing conditions. You will spend the morning driving through the Serengeti plains, watching for where herds will be feeding and where predators might position themselves. After a midday break, you will return to the park for an additional late-afternoon game drive, focusing on movement corridors, water areas, and changing animal behavior as temperatures cool. You will overnight again in the Serengeti area.
Day 3: You will concentrate on the Serengeti’s seasonal highlights
You will begin the day with another morning drive, this time tailoring routes to where wildlife will be most concentrated during your travel period. You will continue tracking the “story” of the ecosystem—grazing patterns, how animals will react to each other, and where hunts or stalking behavior might occur. In the afternoon, you will shift to a different Serengeti zone (or remain in a strong area depending on conditions) to increase your variety of sightings. You will overnight within the Serengeti or at the edge of the Ngorongoro travel route, depending on logistics for the next day.
Day 4: You will travel to Ngorongoro & experience the crater rim
You will depart from the Serengeti and travel toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You will arrive at the crater rim region, settle in, and take in the dramatic views over the caldera. In the late day (if timing allows), you will do a short game viewing session or activity time focused on crater ecology and wildlife gathering points. You will overnight near the rim so that Day 5 will start early.
Day 5: You will descend into Ngorongoro Crater for a final game drive & depart
You will begin very early to enjoy the crater when animals will be most active and visibility will be excellent. You will descend into Ngorongoro Crater for a full crater-floor game drive, watching for the crater’s dense wildlife and distinct habitat zones where animals will gather to feed and drink. After the drive, you will begin your journey back toward Arusha for departure (or onward travel), with time to rest and refresh before your flight or next leg. This marks the end of your 5 Days Serengeti and Ngorongoro Safari.
