Day 1 – Arrival in Kigali → Transfer to Bwindi (Uganda)

Your adventure begins upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, where you’ll be warmly greeted by your guide. After a brief introduction and orientation about your journey, you will embark on a scenic drive toward Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. As you traverse the stunning landscapes of Rwanda, you’ll make your way across the border into Uganda, where lush greenery greets you. Upon your arrival at your lodge in Bwindi, take some time to relax and soak in the beauty of your surroundings, preparing for the exciting days ahead.

Day 2 – Gorilla Trekking → Transfer to Kibale Forest

Rise early for one of the most anticipated experiences of your trip: mountain gorilla trekking. After a hearty breakfast, you’ll be escorted into the forest by experienced rangers, ready for an unforgettable adventure. Depending on the location of the gorillas, the trek can take anywhere from two to six hours, but the reward of coming face-to-face with these magnificent creatures is well worth the effort. After your magical encounter, you’ll drive to Kibale Forest National Park, where you’ll check in to your lodge and spend a restful night amidst the enchanting forest.

Day 3 – Kibale Chimpanzee Trekking

This morning, you’ll set off for another exciting trek, this time in search of the playful chimpanzees that inhabit Kibale Forest. Guided by experts, you’ll have the chance to observe these fascinating primates in their natural habitat. Their social interactions and behaviors are captivating, providing insight into their world. After your trek, you can enjoy an optional afternoon walk at the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, perfect for birdwatching and spotting various wildlife. You’ll return to your lodge for the night, filled with the joy of a day well spent among Uganda’s remarkable primates.

Day 4 – Kibale → Entebbe → Nairobi

After breakfast, you’ll make your way to Entebbe Airport. Upon your arrival, you’ll catch a flight to Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Once you touch down in Kenya, a transfer will take you to your lodge in Nairobi, where you can relax and unwind after your journey. Take this opportunity to explore the local area, or simply enjoy the comfort of your surroundings as you prepare for the safari adventures ahead.

Day 5 – Nairobi → Lake Nakuru National Park (Full Day Safari)

The next morning, you’ll embark on a drive to Lake Nakuru National Park, which takes approximately 2.5 to 3 hours. Upon your arrival, you’ll enjoy a full-day game drive in this stunning park, known for its vibrant populations of flamingos, white rhinos, lions, and leopards. As you explore the park’s diverse ecosystems, keep your camera ready to capture the breathtaking sights that unfold around you. After an exhilarating day, you’ll spend the night in the Lake Nakuru or Naivasha area, surrounded by the beauty of Kenyan wildlife.

Day 6 – Lake Nakuru → Maasai Mara National Reserve

Following breakfast, you’ll set off for a morning drive to the famous Maasai Mara National Reserve. As you travel, the anticipation builds for your entrance into this iconic wildlife haven. Upon arrival, you’ll check in at your lodge before heading out for an afternoon game drive. The Mara’s savannahs and rivers are rich with wildlife, offering incredible opportunities for viewing and photography. After an adventurous day, you’ll settle into your Maasai Mara accommodation for the night.

Day 7 – Maasai Mara (Full Day Safari)

Get ready for an exciting full day safari in the Maasai Mara. As you embark on morning and afternoon drives, you’ll explore various landscapes and wildlife concentrations. If you travel during the Great Migration (July to October), you’ll have the chance to witness bison, zebras, and the predators that follow them. Each drive presents unique opportunities to observe the “Big Five” and much more, immersing you in the heart of Africa’s wilderness. After a thrilling day, you’ll return to your lodge for a well-deserved rest.

Day 8 – Maasai Mara (Full Day Safari)

Another full day in the Maasai Mara awaits! You’ll continue to track wildlife across the vast plains, soaking in every moment of this rich ecosystem. For an added adventure, consider an optional early morning hot air balloon ride for a bird’s eye view of the savannah as the sun rises. The sights from above are nothing short of breathtaking and a unique way to experience the landscape. After a long day of exploration, you’ll enjoy another night in the beautiful Maasai Mara.

Day 9 – Maasai Mara → Nairobi

On your penultimate day, you can either enjoy a final morning game drive in the Mara or relax at your lodge, soaking in the peaceful atmosphere. After breakfast, you’ll embark on a drive back to Nairobi, which takes around 5 to 6 hours. Once you arrive, check into your accommodation for the night, allowing time to reflect on your incredible journey through East Africa.

Day 10 – Nairobi → Departure

As your 10-day safari adventure comes to an end, you’ll enjoy breakfast before transferring to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your international flight home. With memories of breathtaking landscapes, remarkable wildlife encounters, and rich cultures, you’ll leave with stories to tell and a sense of fulfillment from your unforgettable journey through Rwanda, Uganda, and Kenya.
