Overview

Our tour representative is ready to take you to the home of gorillas in Bwindi National Park. You will encounter different creatures while on this safari such as the duikers, elephants, civets, golden cats, different bird species and many more. Not forgetting the beautiful landscapes in Kigali Rwanda and Kigezi in Uganda, places in the city of Kigali like the genocide memorial centre, art and gallery villages, and local markets will also be visited. Also, explore the unique and most attractive culture in Uganda the Batwa pygmies which will take you through their traditional dances.

Detailed itinerary

Day1. Arrival/ be picked from Kigali Rwanda and transfer to Bwindi National Park in Uganda

Be picked up from Kigali on the arrival or at the hotel in the morning and immediately transfer to Bwindi National Park in North Western of Kigali crossing the Katuna border. Bwindi is known to be home to half of the endangered mountain gorilla population that is found in all four sectors of the park. There are other attractions in the park such as over 340 bird species, and over 120 mammals including golden cats, forest elephants, chimpanzees, buffalos and many others. Arrive and prepare for the next great day.

Day2. Mountain gorilla trekking and Batwa community experience

Wake up on breakfast and then embark on a drive to the park offices together with your packed lunch or energy-giving snacks. Arrive at the briefing and join fellow trekkers, be told about the guiding principles to follow while in the forest such as do not eat in front of the gentle giants, don’t litter the park premise, always keep a distance and many more others. After, begin the trek with the guidance of the park guide and the walk will include moving for long hours since no one can predict the location of the gorillas.

Spent an hour in the presence of these beautiful creatures taking memorable photos without using flashlight cameras. Also, record memorable videos and thereafter, you will head back to the park office to receive the gorilla trekking certificate. You will then transfer back to the lodge where you encounter lunch break. In the afternoon, you will visit the Batwa community in the neighbourhood of the park which will entertain you in form of Music, dance and drama. Also, witness how they make fire through friction between two trees.

Day3. Transfer back to Kigali

After a hearty breakfast, you will head back to Kigali. On arrival, take a short city tour where you will visit the local markets, art and gallery villages, the genocide memorial grounds and much more. Have lunch at one of the local restaurants in Kigali and be dropped at the airport later on marking the end of the tour.
