The 7 days’ safari will take you to the eastern Uganda, hike Mount Elgon up to Wagagai, the highest peak, visit the source of R. Nile, water rafting, cultural encounters and also visit the Sipi falls. The safari will start in Kampala and end in Entebbe.

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala and trek from Budadiri to Sasa camp

Upon reaching Entebbe airport, our driver guide will pick you and immediately you embark on the journey of 4hours drive via Mabira forest. You will have a stopover in Mbale town for your en route lunch, and later continue to Budadiri which is near Mbale town. At the gate of Mt. Elgon national park, organize the food supplies and camping gears and later trek to Sasa river camp (8km from Budadiri) for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Trek from Sasa camp to Mude camp

After breakfast, proceed through the forest to Mude cave campsite for dinner and overnight and the distance covered is 5km from Sasa camp to Mude campsite.

Day 3: Trek from Mude camp to Wagagai peak and return to Mude camp

Enjoy your breakfast in the wild and trek through the moorland zone up to the main peak, Wagagai and return to Mude for overnight and dinner. Here distance covered will be 18km.

Day 4: Descend from Mude camp to Budadiri and transfer to Sipi falls.

After breakfast, you will hike to the top of the sipi falls and you will view three different falls on the same rock. You will descend to Budadiri and embark to Sipi falls for your dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Sipi falls tour and cultural encounter.

On this day of the safari, you begin the ascent to top of the Sipi falls. This is a 4-5hour hike depending on the fitness level of climbers. The hike is filled with amazing views of Mount Elgon slopes and coffee plantations in the neighborhood. You will be guided by trained personnel and later descend back to the base. Visit the nearby caves which are known to be shelters for the ancient residents of this area.

Have lunch and later head out to visit the local communities, majorly the Sabiny people who will entertain you with their cultural dances and have a taste on their traditional cuisine. In the evening, head back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Transfer to Jinja and water rafting

After your breakfast, you will set off to Jinja for water rafting. This amazing activity is carried on river Nile which is handled by experienced trained personnel. After the rafting, you will be brought back to the lodge and have a relaxing evening dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Visiting the source of River Nile and transfer to Entebbe.

You will head to the source of the Nile after breakfast, take a boat cruise to the exact place where the legendary River Nile departs Lake Victoria. Knowledgeable guides will give you all the history about the source of River Nile. There are opportunities of bird watching; species such as King Fishers, Herons, African fish eagles can be seen at this spot.

Afterwards you will proceed to Entebbe airport to catch up with your flight and that will mark the end of your trip in Uganda.
