ITINERARY IN DETAIL:
Day 1: Arrive in Kigali and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Your adventure begins with your arrival at Kigali International Airport, where you will be greeted by your safari guide. After a brief orientation about the trip, you will embark on a scenic drive towards Uganda, taking in the picturesque countryside along the way. You will make a stop at a local market or cultural site, enriching your experience before crossing the border into Uganda. As you approach Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, you will check into your lodge, where you will spend the night, ready for the excitement that lies ahead.
Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking and Optional Batwa Community Tour
The following day kicks off with a thrilling early morning trek to see the majestic mountain gorillas. Guided through the forest, you will have the rare opportunity to observe these incredible creatures in their natural habitat. After this unforgettable experience, you can choose to relax at your lodge or take part in an optional community visit to learn more about the local culture.
Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park and Boat Cruise on Kazinga Channel
On Day 3, you will drive to
Queen Elizabeth National Park, with the morning offering either a game drive or a leisurely journey filled with stunning scenery. Upon arrival, you can opt for an afternoon boat safari on the Kazinga Channel, where you will spot hippos and a variety of bird species, or enjoy a game drive to see lions and elephants in their natural environment. You will overnight in Queen Elizabeth NP, preparing for the next leg of your journey.
Day 4: Morning Game Drive and Transfer to Kibale National Park
Day 4 takes you to
Kibale Forest National Park. If you wish, you can join an optional morning game drive before transferring to Kibale, where you will overnight amidst the enchanting forest surroundings.
Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking and Bigodi Wetland Walk
The next day will be equally exhilarating as you embark on a morning chimpanzee trek in Kibale. Guided by an expert, you’ll navigate through the forest, immersing yourself in the vibrant biodiversity. In the afternoon, consider a walk in the
Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, where you can appreciate the diverse flora and fauna. You will spend another night in Kibale Forest, celebrating the joy of seeing chimpanzees in the wild.
Day 6: Transfer to Kampala
On Day 6, you’ll head to Entebbe, winding your way through the charming towns of Fort Portal and Kampala. Once in Entebbe, you’ll have time to relax at your lodge or engage in activities by the shores of Lake Victoria, soaking in the serene atmosphere.
Day 7: Fly to Arusha – Tanzania
Your Tanzanian adventure starts on Day 7 with a morning flight from Entebbe to Kilimanjaro International Airport. Upon your arrival, you will be transferred to Arusha for an overnight stay, allowing you to unwind and prepare for the safari ahead.
Day 8: Transfer to Tarangire National Park and Evening Game Drive
The journey continues to Tarangire National Park on Day 8, where you will enjoy an afternoon game drive, keeping an eye out for elephants and the unique baobab trees. That night, you will stay in the Tarangire area, surrounded by nature.
Day 9: Transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Day 9 sees you traveling to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. A full day is dedicated to exploring the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will have the chance to see incredible wildlife and enjoy a picnic lunch amidst the stunning scenery before resting in the Ngorongoro Highlands for the night.
Days 10 – 12: Explore National Park
On Day 10, you will drive through scenic plains to Central Serengeti, where an afternoon game drive will introduce you to the park’s rich wildlife. You’ll spend the next two days delving deeper into the Serengeti, tracking predators and witnessing the great migration. Each night, you’ll return to your lodge in Central Serengeti.
Day 13: Fly to Zanzibar
After your exhilarating safari, you will fly from the Serengeti to Zanzibar. Upon arrival, you will transfer to a beach resort, where you can check in and unwind on the stunning shores.
Days 14-16: Beach Time in Zanzibar
The following days in Zanzibar are filled with relaxation and adventure. Day 14 is yours to enjoy as you please. Whether lounging on the beach, swimming, or indulging in a rejuvenating spa treatment. On Day 15, you can partake in optional activities, such as snorkeling in crystal-clear waters, exploring spice plantations, or taking a picturesque dhow cruise at sunset. Your final day in Zanzibar is all about leisure, offering you more time to soak up the sun and enjoy the local cuisine.
Day 17: Transfer to Zanzibar Airport and Departure
As you prepare to leave on Day 17, you’ll transfer to Zanzibar International Airport for your international flight home, filled with cherished memories of your unforgettable journey through East Africa. Embark on this incredible adventure, where wildlife, culture, and breathtaking scenery await you at every turn!
