Detailed 3-Day Lake Mburo Birding Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Lake Mburo National Park

Your Lake Mburo birding adventure begins with a morning pickup from your hotel in Kampala after breakfast. Meet your professional driver-guide and embark on a scenic road journey to Lake Mburo National Park in western Uganda. The drive typically takes around four hours, depending on traffic and road conditions.

Along the way, enjoy opportunities for roadside birdwatching as you travel through Uganda’s countryside. Your guide will help you look for species such as the Squacco Heron, Woolly-necked Stork, and Lilac-breasted Roller, depending on the locations visited and prevailing conditions.

You will also stop at the Uganda Equator in Kayabwe, a popular landmark where you can take photographs, enjoy a picnic lunch, and participate in the equator experiments.

Day 2: Morning Birding and Afternoon Boat Cruise on Lake Mburo
