The 4 days’ double gorilla trekking safari will offer you an opportunity to trek gorillas twice by visiting two different families in Bwindi national park which is a home of over half of the remaining population of the endangered mountain gorillas. you will also make a stopover at the equator in Kayabwe for photography and craft shopping.

Day 1: Transfer from Entebbe to Bwindi impenetrable national park

Our driver guide will be waiting for you at Entebbe airport, he will brief you about the double gorilla safari. You will depart to Bwindi a journey taking 9-10hours drive via Mbarara and stop over at the equator in Kayabwe for photography, and continue to Igongo cultural center in Mbarara to experience the Ankole culture and have lunch afterwards head to Bwindi national park. Late in the evening you will check in the accommodation of your choice.

Day 2: 1st gorilla trek

After your morning breakfast, move to the parks headquarters where you will be briefed by the ranger guide about the endangered mountain gorillas and trekking rules. After you enter the jungle for your first gorilla trekking experience. You will be allowed to spend an hour with the gorilla family as you watch them feed, play and groom themselves. Look out for opportunities to shoot memorable photographs of these great giants.

You should carry a rain gears, jungle boots, insect repellants, a bottle of water, camera to enhance your experience. After lunch, you will you will visit the local Batwa community to experience their culture ranging from the dances to artworks. In the evening you will rest and have dinner at your lodge.

Day 3: 2nd gorilla trekking adventure

You will visit another gorilla family after your breakfast in the morning. You will be allowed to spend an hour with the gorilla family as you watch them feed, play and groom themselves. Look out for opportunities to shoot memorable photographs of these great giants. You should carry a rain gears, jungle boots, insect repellants, a bottle of water, camera to enhance your experience.

Day 4: Transfer back to Entebbe airport

After your breakfast drive back to Kampala with an amazing memory of your gorilla trekking safari. You will have lunch Enroute in Kayabwe at the equator and you can buy yourself some souvenirs to go with at home. Later you will be transferred to Entebbe airport for your flight back home and that will mark the end of your safari.

  3. The Gorilla Tracking included in this safari depends on the availability of gorilla trekking permits at the time of booking. These permits are strictly limited and sold out in advance, especially during peak seasons of Christmas and school holidays. We therefore strongly recommend booking early.
