This 6 days tour will take you to volcanoes national park which is a home of the remaining endangered mountain gorillas. It will also take you to Nyungwe forest national park that is home of chimpanzee.
Other attractions you may encounter in these parks may include Colobus monkeys, L’Hoest monkeys, golden monkeys, owl faced monkeys, among others. You will have a city tour where you will visit the Rwanda genocide memorial centre among others. The tour starts and ends at Kigali International airport.

Day 1: Pickup from Kigali airport and transfer to the hotel.
Upon reaching Kigali International airport you will be welcomed by our driver guide who will brief you about the 6-day tour and Rwanda at large. Depending on your arrival time, you may tour around the city for example; visiting the Rwanda genocide memorial centre which was opened 2004, the president’s palace and the central business district of the city. You will check in your hotel for your accommodation.

Day 2: Transfer from Kigali to Nyungwe national park.
You will be transferred to Nyungwe Forest national park which is located south of Kigali city just after your breakfast served at the hotel. You will have a stopover at Nyanza palace for a tour, the palace was a traditional home for Rwanda’s former kings. You will also have an en route lunch stopover before reaching Nyungwe NP. You will check in at the lodge late in the evening for your dinner and over night.

Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking and canopy walk
You will head to the park office for briefing in the morning after your breakfast. You will be told about the does and don’ts of trekking chimpanzee and later head to the forest to search for our cousins the chimpanzees. Nyungwe forest is the largest montane forest harboring 13 primate species including our cousins – the chimpanzees, 38 reptiles and over 275 bird species.
After lunch, you will head for the only East African canopy walk where you will walk above the forest as you spot different beautiful bird species, monkeys jumping from one tree to another, among others. Later you return to the lodge for your dinner and over night

Day 4: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park.
Have an early morning breakfast that will be served at the lodge and after you will depart to volcanoes national park. Before reaching the park you will have a stopover for lunch and photographs. You will check in the lodge for accommodation.

Day 5: Gorilla trekking
After your breakfast you will head to the park office to be briefed about the does and don’ts while trekking the Gorillas. You will be assigned into different groups of 8 to track the gorillas. And Straight away you will be lead by the park ranger guide into the forest in search of the Gorillas. This activity takes 3-8 hours depending on the movements of the gorillas. Including 1 hour of interaction which will seem to be a second. You will later head back to lodge for lunch and relaxation.

Day 6: Transfer back to Kigali from volcanoes national park.
On this day, you will have a leisurely breakfast and straight away check out of the lodge and head back to Kigali. Depending on your flight schedule you may visit some of the craft shops in the city to buy yourself a souvenir and later head to Kigali International airport for your flight thus marking the end of your 6-day safari.
