Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Bwindi National Park

Depart from Kampala and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park a journey of 8-9 hours’ drive in the south western Uganda. Bwindi is home to half of the remaining endangered mountain gorillas in the world and it’s the only area where chimpanzees coexist with mountain gorillas.

On this journey you will have a stopover at the equator spot in Kayabwe for photography and simple experiment. After you will proceed to Mbarara at Igongo for lunch, you will embark to Bwindi national park for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Gorilla Habituation experience. Overnight in Mgahinga national park

After having an early morning breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for gorilla habituation briefing and rules and regulations for this activity. While carrying out this activity you will encounter other attractions such as different bird species, hardwood rain forests species, monkeys among others.

This activity can only be done in Rushaga area in southern part of Bwindi national park and unlike the normal trekking which takes 1 hour, habituation takes up to 4 hours. You will trek back to your lodge for lunch and afterwards drive south wards to Kisoro – the home of Mgahinga gorilla national park. Arrive and check in at the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Golden monkey tracking

Have a morning breakfast and set off to Mgahinga national park headquarters. Upon reaching at the park headquarters, you will be briefed about golden monkey trekking. This activity takes 1 hour. While trekking these rare golden monkeys you will encounter other attractions such as different bird species, baboons, among others. Trek back to the ranger station and meet your driver who will drive you back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer back to Kampala

Have your breakfast in the morning and transfer to Kampala via Mbarara town a journey of 8-9 hours. You will stop in Kayabwe at the equator for an en route lunch and craft shopping. Later you will continue to Kampala/Entebbe to catch up your flight and this will make up the end of the safari.

  3. The Gorilla Tracking included in this safari depends on the availability of gorilla trekking permits at the time of booking. These permits are strictly limited and sold out in advance, especially during peak seasons of Christmas and school holidays. We therefore strongly recommend booking early.
