Detailed itinerary

Day1. Arrival and transfer to a hotel

Be picked up from the airport on arrival and in case your arrival time is in the morning or afternoon, you can visit some of the city-based attractions like the Uganda wildlife educational centre, the Kabaka’s palace, the Uganda museum and many more. You will be taken to the booked hotel in Kampala and this will be the beginning of your safari. Overnight at Casia lodge

Day2. Transfer to Mgahinga national park

Begin the day with an early breakfast and then transfer to Mgahinga national park which is the smallest national park in the pearl of Africa. It has unique primates which are the endangered mountain gorillas and the rare golden monkeys. This park also is located in the Virunga Massif also known as the Virunga Conservation Area shared among three countries that are Uganda, Rwanda and Tanzania.

While on the way to the park, you will enjoy the beautiful landscape covered by terraced lands, plantations, cattle farms, escarpments and many more others. a stopover will be at the Uganda Equator where you will enjoy photographic moments and experiments to show the north and southern hemisphere. Arrive in the evening at the lodge booked and this will be the end of the day

Day3. Gorilla trekking

Begin the day with breakfast and then a short drive to the park office to be able to attend the briefing exercise. This will be conducted by the park guide ranger. The park warden will be cross-checking the gorilla trekking permits. The dos and don’ts will be the main objective of this briefing since they will guide you throughout the experience. Among others are don’t use the flashlight camera since the gorillas can end up attacking you, don’t litter the park premises, don’t make noise while in the forest and all the time keep a distance from the gorillas.

You will then begin the search with the park ranger together with the potters and other trekkers. Locate them and spend an hour in their presence and this will be another great experience while recording memorable photos. Return to the lodge after the trek to share memories with the staff of the lodge and fellow colleagues on the same safari.

Day4. Transfer to Bwindi national park and Batwa community

Head to the only impenetrable national park in Uganda which is the Bwindi located near the Virunga conservation area also home to endangered mountain gorillas. Surprisingly, the park homes almost half of the remaining mountain gorillas in the world. This park is located in Kanungu district far south western Uganda and it’s among the smallest national parks covering an area of 321 square kilometres. On your arrival, you will have your lunch and then visit the nearby community of the Batwa. They will take you through the community walk. After, you will be entertained by the traditional music and dances. After you will head back to the lodge and this will create everlasting memories.

Day5. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi

Head for another exciting and last dose of gorilla trekking in the midst of Bwindi Forest which will begin with a briefing at the park headquarters. You will be told the dos and don’ts to follow while in the forest and this will not differ from the previous briefing. Here you will be given all the required information about the gorilla family you will trek with in terms of behaviours and many more others. Begin the trek with a help of the ranger guide. On the way, meet different attractions like the birds, plants and many other forest inhabitants. On spotting the family of gorillas trekked, you will spend an hour in their presence. This will be another great reward. After, head back to the lodge. This will be the end of the day since the experience can even take about 8 hours.

Day6. Transfer back to Kampala

You will have an early breakfast and immediately transfer back to Kampala with the option of stopping in Mbarara to visit the Igongo cultural centre where you will encounter the true Banyankore culture. Touch and feel the art facts displayed in the museum. The designed stopover will be at the Uganda equator where you will have late lunch. Proceed to Kampala and drop off at Entebbe international airport.

What a vacation: 8 days with gorillas, followed by 10 days spent looking for lions, leopards, hippos, elephants, cape buffalos, rhinoceroses, and other animals. It’s crucial to begin your gorilla tour by observing animals ranging freely in several national parks, such as lions, leopards, and more, before you experience the sound and sight of gorillas.

Begin from Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for the rhino trekking encounter before moving on to the national parks of Murchison Falls, Kibale Forest, Semuliki, and Queen Elizabeth. Trekking with gorillas and adaptation takes place in the national parks of the Bwindi and Mgahinga gorillas, after which you can unwind at Lake Bunyonyi. This activity list also includes birdwatching, boat tours, and game drives. Entebbe International is where this journey begins and concludes.

Only the African continent is home to golden monkeys, and on typical treks, no one comes close to them. Habituation is when golden monkeys are trained to become accustomed to human presence and when the majority of golden monkeys- human related research is carried out. After a break for lunch, you’ll return to the lodge for dinner and a well-deserved nap.

A 3 Days Mgahinga Gorilla safari to the real African forest is a fantastic experience; it unveils the beauty of the democratic Republic of Congo in central Africa, the Republic of Rwanda, and the lovely nation of Uganda, right at the immense jungle of the Virunga chain of mountains. The majority of the mountain gorillas, which make up half of the world’s total population, are found in Uganda’s south-western Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Gorillas are distant relatives of humans, with whom they share more than 98 percent of their DNA.

The park has mountain gorillas, and you can follow them on foot to see where they are resting or feeding. This is made possible with the aid of a knowledgeable ranger guide. Your safari begins and ends at the prearranged collection location, which is either Entebbe International Airport or Kampala City. The quality of the food, lodging, and transportation is excellent.

The magnificent Lake Victoria is glimpsed before the journey to Mgahinga National Park begins. In addition, this park is recognized as a home to the world’s mountain gorilla population. The breathtaking countryside of western Uganda is traveled through for 9 to 11 hours.

To point out, breaks for lunch and refreshments are provided along the way. Arrival at the park is achieved just before the sun sets at dusk. As a result, a delectable dinner is enjoyed before retiring for the night. Being well-rested is encouraged since trekking starts quite early in the morning.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking and the Batwa Pygmies Encounter

A mouthwatering breakfast is served at the lodge to start the day. Moreover, all luggage and trekking gear are carried to the park headquarters. A pre-trek briefing is conducted by knowledgeable ranger guides at the station. Specifically, the dos and don’ts of trekking are gone over during this session.

Participants are assigned to specific gorilla families before entering the forest. Undoubtedly, the experience is found to last anywhere from one to eight hours. Security and cohesion are maintained by a large silverback in charge of the group. Indeed, the silverback is viewed as the center of attention within the family.

Rare plant species, birds, and gorilla habitats are expected to be seen. Furthermore, one hour is allotted to observe how the cousins interact. A trip to the Batwa cultural community is taken after the lunch break. Accordingly, singing and dancing are enjoyed with the local forest dwellers.

Day 3: Departure via the Equator

A hearty breakfast is eaten at the lodge before checking out. Likewise, the drive to Kampala or Entebbe International Airport is commenced. A stopover is made at the Equator along the way for an experiment.
Day 1: Entebbe Arrival & Kampala City Tour

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your Epic Uganda Vacation driver-guide. Following a brief orientation regarding safari rules, we drive to Kampala. During this urban exploration, you will visit historical landmarks like the Kabaka’s Palace and the Queen’s Clock, and experience the vibrant atmosphere of Nakasero Market—the city’s oldest trading hub.

Day 2: Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary & Murchison Falls

After an early breakfast, we depart for Murchison Falls National Park. The 6-hour journey includes a pivotal stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Specifically, you will trek on foot to see the Southern White Rhino, completing the first of your “Big Five” sightings. Subsequently, we proceed to the park, arriving at your lodge in time for a relaxing evening.

Day 3: Savannah Game Drive & Albert Nile Boat Cruise

At dawn, we head into the northern delta of Murchison Falls. Indeed, there are high chances of spotting Rothschild giraffes, lions, African elephants, and Jackson’s hartebeests. In the afternoon, we embark on a boat cruise toward the base of the falls. Notably, you will witness the Nile forcing itself through a tiny 7-meter gorge, creating the world’s most powerful waterfall, while spotting hippos and giant Nile crocodiles along the banks.

Day 4: To Kibale Forest & The Isunga Tea Experience

Next, we transfer to the “Primate Capital of the World,” Kibale National Park. On our way, we pass through the scenic Albertine Rift via Hoima. In the evening, we join the Isunga Cultural Community for an immersive tea experience. You will learn the entire process—from pruning and harvesting to the final cup—while enjoying the lush green scenery of the foothills.

Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking & Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary

Today, we enter the rainforest for chimpanzee trekking. After a briefing at the Kanyanchu visitors center, you will spend an hour observing our closest cousins as they swing through the canopy. Furthermore, the afternoon features a walk in Bigodi Swamp, a biodiversity hotspot where you can spot 8 different primate species and the rare Great Blue Turaco.

Day 6: The Equator & Queen Elizabeth National Park

Following breakfast, we drive 2–3 hours to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Crucially, we stop at the Equator for a unique photographic opportunity in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres simultaneously. In the evening, we embark on a game drive across the Kasenyi Plains to search for elephants, Cape buffaloes, and the park’s elusive leopards.

Day 7: Tree-Climbing Lions & Kazinga Channel Cruise

Today, we explore the Ishasha sector, famous for its tree-climbing lions. In addition, the afternoon is reserved for a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. Consequently, you will have a front-row seat to one of the world’s highest concentrations of hippos and a spectacular array of water birds like Kingfishers and Pelicans.

Day 8: Ishasha Sector to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Transitioning further south, we drive toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This journey takes us back through the Ishasha sector for one last look at the climbing lions before reaching the misty heights of Bwindi—home to half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas.

Day 9: The Ultimate Gorilla Trekking Experience

This is the day you have been waiting for. After an early briefing, you will enter the ancient forest with expert rangers. Generally, the trek takes 2–8 hours depending on the gorillas’ movement. However, once found, the one hour spent in the presence of these gentle giants is a profound, life-changing experience. Afterward, you will receive your official trekking certificate at the park headquarters.

Day 10: Igongo Cultural Center & Departure

On our final day, we begin the journey back to Entebbe. On the way, we stop at the Igongo Cultural Center in Mbarara to explore Ankole heritage and shop for local crafts. Finally, after a celebratory lunch at the Equator, we proceed to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight home.
