This 3 day safari will take you to lake Mburo national parks which is the best destinations for bird watching with over 315 bird species. It is also the nearest national park to Kampala city giving a chance to birders with a short time in Uganda. The landscape is incredible for birding activity due to its wetlands lakes like Mburo, acacia trees, savannah vegetation and rolling hills. Among other birds you will encounter are shoebill stork, black-billed barbet, white-wigged warbler among and crested Francolin.

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Lake Mburo National Park

You will be picked from the hotel after your breakfast by our driver guide and straight away head for a 4hour journey drive to Lake Mburo national park in western Uganda. The park is a home of over 315 different species of birds and mammal species. You will have stopovers as in search for birds such as belied heron, Wolly-Necked stork, Lilac breasted roller among others also make a stop at the Uganda equator in Kayabwe for photography, picnic lunch and experiments. Later continue with the journey to the park for overnight and dinner at a lodge of your choice.

Day 2: Game drive and boat cruise in the afternoon

You will have a morning game drive after your delicious breakfast in search for unique bird species and you will view animals such as impalas, zebras, topis, giraffes but focus on searching the birds such as Brown Chested Plover, Buff Bellied Warbler, Green Capped Eremomela, Lesser Blue Eared Starling, Red Faced Barbet, Red Bellied Wood Hope. Return to the lodge for lunch and after head for a boat cruise on lake Mburo in search for White Backed and Black Crowned Night Herons, African fin foot, Giant Kingfisher among others. You will return to the lodge to relax, dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Birding and transfer back to Kampala

Have a morning birding on food along the trails to the swamp valley of Warukiri in the park with an armed park ranger after your breakfast. You will spot a number of birds such as Lesser Blue Eared Starling, Red Faced Barbet, Red Bellied Wood Hope, Shoebill Stork, Coqui Francolin, Brown-Chested Lapwing, Grey Crowned Crane, Bateleur, Rufous Bellied Heron. And later, you will be transferred to Kampala hence making the end of 3 days birding safari in Lake Mburo National Park.
