Moreover, this is the perfect starting point for Chimpanzee Trekking Uganda.

Day 2 – Gorilla Trekking → Transfer to Kibale Forest

Rise early for one of the most anticipated experiences of your trip: mountain gorilla trekking. After a hearty breakfast, you’ll be escorted into the forest by experienced rangers, ready for an unforgettable adventure. Depending on the location of the gorillas, the trek can take anywhere from two to six hours. However, the reward of coming face-to-face with these magnificent creatures is well worth the effort. Each drive presents unique opportunities to observe the “Big Five” and much more. This will immerse you in the heart of Africa’s wilderness. After a thrilling day, you’ll return to your lodge for a well-deserved rest.

If you need a simple hike, inform your guide before the briefing so that he helps speak to the trackers to select for you a simple hike. The trackers have an idea of how far each group is as their colleagues go into the forest earlier to establish actual locations of the gorilla groups. Do hire a porter, even if you feel fit enough not to need a hand up having someone else to carry your backpack makes it so much easier as you hike.

Don’t underestimate the hike, good physical shape if very necessary. We recommend a walking sticks at the briefing point and a porter carry your backpack. The view at the top is absolutely stunning in the night staring watching the glowing red lava.
