What an amazing, memorable and interesting experience gorilla trekking is!
Gorillas are herbivore animals which normally inhabit the tropical rain forests of equatorial
Africa. They are large apes and it is believed that they share 95-99percent of the DNA like that
of human beings hence making them the closest relative of man after the chimpanzees and
bonobos. These animals are divided into two groups and these are the western and eastern
gorillas these are also subdivided into four groups where the eastern are divided into mountain
and eastern lowland gorillas.
The other group consists of the cross-river gorillas and the western lowland gorillas with the top
leader being the silverback. Its name was given to it because of the silver-like color on the back.
In Addition, these primates live in different places of the world, for example, the mountain
gorillas which are residents of the Virunga in the Democratic Republic of Congo bordering the
countries of Rwanda and Uganda. The cross-river gorillas live in the equatorial forests of
Cameroon and Nigeria, the western lowland gorillas are residents of the Democratic Republic of
Congo while the eastern lowland gorillas also live in the tropical forests of the Democratic
Republic of Congo.
This budget gorilla trekking is sometimes considered as hard to prepare but it is one of the
easiest and most interesting safaris. For the visitors who have intentions to conduct their gorilla
safari cheaply or at low and affordable prices, we plan and make for you plans to meet your
needs through gorilla permits are expensive.
Budget gorilla trekking means selecting services to be offered to you while on your safari at a
cheaper price. These services include; transport mode, accommodation, cost of trekking permits,
number of people to travel with, time of travel, number of days to spend on the tour and the place
where to trek from. These will give you a clear picture of the Safari as you plan to carry it out.
While making this safari, it is always advisable to note that the transport for most of the Safaris
in Uganda is mostly done using two safari vehicles and these are the 4×4 safari jeep vehicles and
4×4 safari vans. For our case, we will use 4×4 safari vans leaving the 4×4 safari jeep vehicles.
This is because they are comfortable and affordable. Furthermore, accommodation for these
visitors is also based on their pockets. Visitors are always expected to book budget lodges where
they can get services with the money which they can afford.
It is important to note that trekking is done in two countries in East Africa and these are Rwanda
in the Volcanoes National Park and Uganda in Bwindi impenetrable national park and Mgahinga
National Park. Trekking in Rwanda is well done and visitors are charged Us dollars 1500 per
person and which is not the case in Uganda where trekking is charged 700Usdollars half of the
money charged for trekking in Rwanda. For this reason, therefore, you are advised to do your
safari in Uganda

Note that visitors are always advisable to always travel in groups normally ranging from 2-7
travelers to share the costs. Trekking is mostly done during the sunny season in June, July and
August but you should visit Uganda when the season is low in March, April, May and September
when there is high rainfall even on afternoons and lodges tend to put discounts on some services.
Trekking in Uganda is done in Mgahinga National Park and Bwindi impenetrable National Park.
In Bwindi National Park it is normally done in all four sectors of Rushaga, Buhoma, Nkuringo
and Ruhija but for budget visitors, it is always advisable to go to Rushaga and Ruhija because of
easy accessibility.
